In the fall of 2011, Jim and Matt noticed something the big Ag retailers hoped nobody would figure out — there were plenty of farm managers looking out for landlords, but nobody was actually in the grower's corner. The programs, the games, the smoke and mirrors that pass for "service" in this industry? They'd seen enough of it from the inside to know growers were getting the short end of the stick.

So they did something about it.

They spent a year doing the research, having the hard conversations, asking growers what they actually needed, and praying they weren't crazy for thinking this industry could be done differently. Turns out, they weren't crazy — they were just early.

They walked away from one of the largest co-ops in the nation — and a lot of the comforts and security that came with it — because they believed growers deserved an advocate, not a sales pitch. The big retail machine isn't built for the farmer. It's built for margins. They built something else entirely.

Jim, Matt, Ben, and the team have grown to 20 employees and counting. Their customers aren't accounts on a spreadsheet — they're partners. And that's something the big boys, with all their programs and complexity, still can't replicate.

Turns out, doing right by the farmer is a pretty solid business model. Who knew.
